Nearly every dealer at the Baltimore Coin & Currency Convention reported having a good show. This was an amazing event as dealers and collectors from all over the country participated in an ever-growing show. The increase in activity can be directly related to the fact that the market is hot. Several dealers said this was their best show ever, although we are sure that those dealers are fairly new to the business. Yet, this points out that everybody is doing well in this market. We are in a market where just about everything is capable of being sold. It is just a matter of finding the right price for certain coins. The strength of the bullion market continues to add new players to the overall numismatic trend. Certified U.S. Gold is continually active and thousands of these coins are going off the market. Some of the more common Gold coins are so strong that market makers cannot buy enough of them to satisfy the current demand. The market for expensive rarities remains active and many of these issues do no last in inventory very long. The metals appear to be strengthening again as Silver is looking to run up to and past the $11 level. Many analysts believe if it breaks through $11 then it may jump considerably higher. Today it is at $10.31; Gold is $553.60 and Platinum is $1035. -What's Hot?
