Bullion Moving Quickly

Monday, October 15, 2007 | Printer Friendly Printer Friendly

The metals continue a fast pace toward higher levels. With oil busting through the $85 level, it looks like confidence in the U.S. Dollar remains weak. What this means for numismatists and bullion investors is they need to pay attention to the fast swings before committing to transactions, especially bullion related coins.

There are numerous increases in the Market Dealer Price Guide this week. Certified bullion coins continue to follow the advances of Gold, Silver and Platinum. If the metals remain this strong, certified bullion coins will be very active. The majority of non-bullion modern issues (common dates) are status quo due to a definite lack of interest.

Beginning with the next issue of the printed version of the Wholesale Market Dealer Price Guide, we will separate the Classic booklet into two guides. The first one will include Half Cents through Standing Liberty Quarters and will be labeled Classic LD (Lower Denominations). The following week the Classic HD (Higher Denominations) will include Half Dollars through Gold along with the older Silver and Gold Commemoratives. The Moderns will continue as is; the three guides will alternate over a three week period. This is being done at the request of many subscribers who feel the current Classic Guide is too bulky and difficult to handle.
