The Central States Numismatic Society Convention takes place this week in St. Louis, May 9-12. The Heritage Signature Sale will surely attract the attention of many serious collectors and dealers. The rarities in this sale will help define current market psychology. Judging by the increases in the Wholesale Market Dealer Price Guide this week, you can see that specialists are concentrating efforts on Seated Halves by date, and not just the high grades. Many increases are noted all the way up to the highest coins certified. Morgan Dollars are attracting a lot of attention, especially the very rare dates where the census reports indicate just a few have been certified. In addition, DMPL Dollars, with deep mirrors and clean surfaces are quite strong at higher levels. The metals have been higher over the last few days so be sure to check the NumisMedia Home Page (right column) for the latest metals update.
