Dealers from all over the country are already beginning to arrive for the next two shows in Southern California. The Anaheim Coin and Collectibles Expo begins this Thursday and will run through Saturday. This is followed closely by the Long Beach Expo, September 14-16. Heritage Galleries hosts the official Long Beach Auction from the 13th to the 16th. They have assembled a cast of major collections that is sure to make this another triumphant sale in a long line of successes. There are several other sales just prior to the Long Beach Show. The market continues to be very selective as buyers are looking for specific issues in their favorite grades. There is no end to the amount of money that can be spent on just the right coin. However, common coins in common grades continue to require discounts. The good news here is that dealers are not afraid to be creative in order to move stagnant material and buy into the next phase of the market. After the Labor Day respite, the metals have opened very strong this morning. Gold is currently at $637.10 and Silver is $13.14. Platinum is $1260. Make sure you check final prices before making any commitments. -What's Hot?
