This should be an interesting week in Baltimore with thousands of dealers and collectors attending the Annual Worlds Fair of Money. Many dealers are already there in hopes of getting a jump on business. The demand for low census rarities continues with buyers paying in advance of current wholesale levels. Many dealers have record inventories so collectors will have a variety of high-end rarities from which to choose. This weeks HD Wholesale Market Dealer Price Guide has plenty of advances with Early Bust coins leading the way. Dealers are paying very strong prices for coins that they know will sell immediately to any number of their clients. Bust Dollars list numerous increases across all grades; problem-free coins will bring premiums and even coins with minor problems will attract avid bargain hunters. High grade Seated Dollars in MS64 and above are not very plentiful and several aggressive dealers will take almost all dates at higher than previously reported buy prices. There is a long list of advances for Deep Mirror Prooflike Morgan Dollars in MS65 and higher. Buyers want the highest or next highest grade available and they are not shy about their buy prices. We should see some new records set in the Heritage Signature Sale for these rarities. Despite the wide swings of the gold market, we find many dealers specializing in hard to find dates. The Early Bust $2 ½, $5, and $10 Gold market is steady at present levels and when coins are actually located, sellers demand premiums to the wholesale levels.
