Metals Tumble Further

Tuesday, May 29, 2007 | Printer Friendly Printer Friendly

The Long Beach Expo is well known for arriving at the same time the metals take a dip. This one is no different. Even though Gold and Silver are up slightly this morning, they have been headed consistently downward over the last month. Gold has dropped over $30 and Silver is down about $1.25 since April 25th.

Lower wholesale prices are noted for many of the Modern bullion coins in this week’s Wholesale Dealer Price Guide. This should help retail business at the Long Beach Show. Collectors are always looking for bargains and lower prices tend to create increased activity.

Registry collectors continue to spark interest in Jefferson Nickels, Roosevelt Dimes, and Washington Quarters. The highest certified issues, usually MS68, have very low census numbers and only a few collectors can acquire these highest graded issues.
