Selective Market Moves Higher

Today’s coin market remains very strong overall even though many buyers are becoming more selective in the quality of coins they will purchase. However, this does not mean they are overly conscious of the grade. Buyers are looking for a special circumstance on each and every coin. They want a specific eye appeal that does not appear on every coin. Eye appeal is different to each buyer so the number of coins being purchased is a high percentage of those being offered. Most buyers are not looking to “rip” high-end coins for the grade; they simply want a specific look to match other coins in a collector’s set. To take this one step further, even the coins that do not meet this specific challenge for the more astute buyers will readily sell to other buyers looking for more reasonably priced coins. In other words, coins are trading hands at many price ranges for the same grade. It is a very good market when you can sell coins to all categories of collectors. Gold appears to be regrouping at $552.70, as is Silver at $9.60. Platinum is currently at $1027. The 2006 Annual is ready for immediate delivery.
