The majority of the countrys coin dealers are in Florida this week for the annual FUN Convention. There are several major auctions prior to and during this tremendously popular show. These combined events should make for a big start to 2008. Collectors should be out in force with plenty of money to purchase coins if priced commensurate to the grade. Gold and Platinum have surged past their all time highs. A massive number of advances in this weeks Wholesale Market Dealer Price Guide Moderns Edition indicates the recent activity for bullion coins and verifies the strength of the metals. Even the Silver issues moved higher for many grades. All it would take is for the metals to remain steady in order for more buyers to become involved. Even though there are not a lot of advances for earlier proof Lincoln Cents, we can assure you there is much interest in these coins. The 1909 to 1942 issues command most of the attention and buyers are looking for coins that have consistent color for the grade. Coins that have spotty toning will not command the current wholesale levels. Color is always a major consideration for copper coinage.
